Edit a pattern - Either select a graphic with a pattern in your main document and click "Edit Pattern" in the Fill Inspector, or double-click any pattern in the Pattern Palette. Click Save when done.

Altering the repeat - Use Vertical & Horizontal Tiling sliders to change distance between each repeat.

Delete a pattern - Follow instructions for "Edit a pattern", and click "Delete" button.

Changing what's shown - Click and drag on the Clipping lines in the Mini-Doc to change what's clipped by the pattern, and everything in the box formed by the 4 lines will be shown - tiling can reduce this, though.

Note: TIFFS and EPS objects cannot be used since they cause Display PostScript errors.

Auto Trace lets you convert TIFF images into editable splines.

1. Bring up Auto Trace Control panel. Tools->Auto Trace...

2. Choose a TIFF - The AutoTrace panel will attempt to find an image to trace in this order:
        a. The selected graphic if it is an image
        b. The background image if there is one
        c. The image opened with "Open Image..."

3. Click "Trace" - A progress monitor will appear, since it can take a long time on large images. You can stop the trace at anytime by clicking on the STOP button.
