Basic concepts, continued
What distinguishes Create from other object-oriented drawing programs is the number of graphic characteristics that can be manipulated and the ease with which you can change those characteristics. For example, you can apply effects like shadows and special fills to graphic images using the numerous inspectors available to you. Create has a number of advanced layout tools to help you precisely layout your document. See Chapters 4 and 5 for more information. You can combine Create images with graphic objects and EPS, TIFF, JPEG, GIF and PNG objects to create a finished design. You can also save selected Create images as EPS, TIFF, JPEG, GIF and PNG images for insertion into other applications that accept those formats. You can also save selected objects in a special Create image format that is especially compact and can be dropped into any open Create document from the File Viewer.
The visual guide at the end of this chapter shows the various inspectors and the graphic characteristics they control. For complete descriptions of all the inspector features, see Chapter 4. Also, you can learn more about inspectors by selecting a previously created object (load one from the Gallery menu or open one of the tutorial files) and inspecting the controls that were used to modify that object's characteristics.
